Filini Restaurant

I don't think I would recommend this restaurant. I went with a small party to celebrate a birthday after reading the website reviews, I was disappointed. The restaurant was quite cold, the staff ( 2 young girls) seemed inexperienced. My starter of garlic and chive soup was undrinkable. Others in my party also were not happy with the experience. I think it speaks for itself when I say that there was only 1 other table occupied all evening, and this on a Saturday night. We were also unhappy at the imposition of the 10% service charge on the bill. I will tip readily if I have had good service, but I wouldn't have left much of a tip on Saturday night. I expected more from such a renowned hotel chain, but sadly it was not delivered.

We had a very disappointing evening at Filini’s, Liverpool in October 2008. In short, this restaurant is mediocre in food quality, service and is overpriced. First, one should be aware that this restaurant is not set up to cater to parties greater than 4. We had 6 in out party, which meant they had to cobble together three small table away from the normal dining area, leaving the ambiance distinctly lacking.

The waitress was somewhat surly. She failed to ensure that everybody had completed their order before leaving the table, and failed to check that everything was satisfactory with the food she had served. It was not. The soup was thin and tasteless, and then blamed the guests for not alerting her (she was nowhere to be seen). No compensation was offered. Two of the guests had their main entrées overcooked relative to what they had requested.

This is a restaurant to be avoided. It is very expensive for the mediocre quality that is delivered.

Both my girlfriend and I thought that the resturant was very inviting. The head waiter was very friendly and professional. The food was very nice and the house wine was also very nice and good value. The only complaint we both had was the restaurant bar staff appeared to be very inexperienced and although they were freindly, they let the experience down due to thier lack of knowledge of the both the food and drinks menus. The restaurant also lacked atmosphere.
